Solving Problems by Drawing Toast

In his 2013 TEDGlobal talk titled “Got a wicked Problem? First, tell me how you make toast,” Designer Tom Wujec challenges us to think about how we go about solving problems. At first glance, being asked to “draw the process for making toast” seems like a pretty simple challenge. But what Tom has found after running this exercise with thousands of people is that it's not as simple as one might think. There are hundreds of interpretations with significantly varying clarity. It is particularly interesting to hear how teams work together when tasked with drawing process and it provides a glimpse into how we can go about solving our most complicated problems at work.
