We are either all winners or all losers

Over the past two weeks, we have seen the historic inauguration of the first African American and Asian American Vice President, followed by the re-commitment of the United States of America to the Paris Climate accord. While there are many incredible things we could talk about and gather additional perspective on, it seems fitting to visit this talk by Christiana Figueres from 2016, sharing her inside account of the development of the Paris climate agreement. At a time when it is so easy to disagree with one another, it’s hard to imagine how Ms. Figueres was able to was able to convince 195 nations to unanimously vote to change the course of history by collectively deciding the future of our planet could be saved. A remarkable story that started with a shift to believing that “Impossible is not a fact, its an attitude.” Together, these remarkable countries were able to agree that they were no longer playing a zero-sum game, but one where they would either all be winners, or all losers. Enjoy!
